"There is very little between you and nature and God"

"You know, everyone is going ooh-la-la and being indignant about our climate change. But what did they expect?" Stancer says of those who are just waking up to global warming. "Why are people surprised that this is a living, breathing planet?"

Far North Feels Worst Effects of Warming by BETH DUFF-BROWN

Very good read from the AP. As always, I'm left wondering when I'm going to get my ass in gear and start biking again.

Great to hear from you Erin. We miss you guys too! I've been feeling terribly guilty about punking out on the POKs. I've been caught up in cosmically trivial but economically essential activities and there just hasn't been time.

You'd think that totally screwing up the weather would be a wake-up call for even the most hard-core neo-conservative knotheads, but apparently they can rationalize anything. Must feel great to be so damn RIGHT all the time.

How are things on the homefront? Howze the chickens and such? We're working with Chris Shine to put in a food forest (we terraced the hill in front of the house and reclaimed about 1000 sqft of horizontal space) and we've been thinking about maybe starting a beehive. Whaddya think?

Love to all,

T.
